Step-by-Step Instructions
Fill the lamp: Remove the decorative crown and snuffer cap. Insert your funnel and fill the lamp to a maximum of
full with your chosen fragrance oil. (Be sure to wipe up any spills, as the alcohol-based oil can damage wood finishes).
Soak the wick: Insert the wick assembly securely into the lamp. If it is a new wick or completely dry, place the solid snuffer cap back on and allow it to soak for 20 to 30 minutes so the wick is fully saturated.
Light the stone: Remove the snuffer cap. Use a lighter or match to ignite the stone. A flame will appear (it may be quite large, which is normal). Let it burn for exactly 2 minutes to bring the stone to operating temperature.
Blow out the flame: Blow out the flame after 2 minutes. The stone will no longer have a flame, but it will be glowing and intensely hot.
Cover and diffuse: Place the decorative, open-vented crown over the hot stone and leave the lamp to scent your space. Do not leave the vented crown on while the initial flame is burning.
Extinguish safely: Because catalytic lamps draw liquid continuously, you must manually stop the process. Remove the hot decorative crown and place the solid snuffer cap tightly over the stone to stop the diffusion.
